Before you start working as a
contractor through Orion Electrotech Ltd we MUST
have proof of your eligibility to work within the
UK. Your contact at Orion will tell you the forms of
ID that are acceptable for you to start work for us.
When we have seen your ID that proves you can work
in the UK you will receive a contract pack
containing the following: If working as a Ltd or
Self Employed contractor:
- Assignment note – this
indicates your contract start date, address details
for place of work, hourly pay (keep for your own
records)
- Opt out agreement (please
sign and return if you wish to opt out)
Why Opt Out???
To justify your self employed
status in line with the IR35 (Inland Revenue)
Regulations.
If you don’t choose to opt out you may be forced to
pay much more tax and NI than you should have to, as
you are under the new legislation the Inland Revenue
may assess you. If you really don’t want to opt out
we will have to write you a new contract, get
references and really start to look at your
background etc.
- Guarantee (please sign and
return)
Why sign the Guarantee???
Signing the guarantee shows that you accept that you
are working through a Ltd co., and that you are
responsible for paying your own tax and NI.
If working as a PAYE contractor:
- Assignment note - this indicates your contract
start date, address details for place of work,
hourly pay (keep for your own records)
- 48 hour opt out (please sign
and return if you wish to opt out)
Why sign the 48 hour opt out???
If you are 18 or over and wish
to work more than 48 hours a week, you can choose to
opt out of the 48 hour limit.
- PAYE candidate contract
(please sign both copies and return one back to us)
In your pack you will also receive some blank
timesheets and a pre-paid envelope to return your
signed contract back to us.

Payroll information:
When working as a contractor you will need to send
in your timesheet to our payroll department.
TIMESHEETS MUST BE IN BY MIDDAY ON A TUESDAY AND
INVOICES MIDDAY ON A WEDNESDAY, FAILURE TO SEND
THESE IN ON TIME WILL RESULT IN YOU NOT BEING PAID.
